“Loves deadly embrace”

In twilight’s hush, where silence grows,
Beneath the bough where sorrow goes,
There dwells a tale, both sweet and dire—
Of love entwined with ghostly fire.

Her hand in his, a trembling thread,
In midnight gardens cold and red,
They walk the path where roses bloom
And thorns await beyond the gloom.

Her eyes like storms, dark-lashed and brave,
His voice a whisper, soft as grave;
A promise carved in shadowed air:
“To love you past all hope, all care.”

Oh, love—what dangers you compose,
What venom hides within the rose.
A breath, a glance, the quickened race—
How fatal is your fond embrace.

Yet holding tight despite the cost,
They taste the sweetness, mourn the lost;
For hearts, once given, will not feign—
They ache for joy as much as pain.

And still they dance, by moon caressed,
In love's embrace—both doomed and blessed—
For death may come, and time erase,
But nothing dims that deadly grace.
