“A kids party”
Balloons rise up in bright, sweet skies,
A crepe streamer river twirls and flies,
Giggles tiptoe through the sunlit air,
Sticky fingers, frosting everywhere.
Sneakers thud on grass, a wild parade—
Pirate hats worn in the treehouse shade,
Hide-and-seek with eyes squeezed tight,
Red-cheeked laughter takes to flight.
Paper hats, a rainbow train,
Candy jewels we try to claim,
Pin the tail, a donkey grin,
One, two, three—let’s spin again!
A mighty cheer: here comes the cake,
Candles trembling, hands that shake,
A secret wish, a hopeful blow,
Crumbs and icing—cheeks aglow.
Prizes rattle in the goody bags,
Ribbons flutter, time just lags.
No need to rush, the day is bright—
Magic lingers in the light.
At the end, dusk begins to fall,
Parents wave at the garden wall,
But in each heart, wild and free—
The party’s there, eternally.
