“I'm a Christian”
I’m a Christian, soft and strong,
Walking gently, singing song—
Of hope that rises with the sun,
Of mercy new when day’s begun.
I am anchored in a Name
Woven through Jerusalem’s claim;
Love that bled on bitter tree
To open wide the way for me.
In crowded streets or still retreat,
I pray for kindness in my feet;
To see with eyes that Christ would use,
The humble, lost—the ones who bruise.
My faith is bread, my faith is wine,
A whispered prayer at sacred time;
A folded hand, a lifted heart,
A promise never to depart.
Through storms that crack the trembling air,
Or gentle days of answered prayer,
I know my Guide, both sure and near—
When all is dark, He’s ever here.
I’m a Christian—yes, it’s true;
Not perfect, but I’m being made new.
Grace is the road I walk upon,
Led ever home by the Holy Son.
