“love”

Love is a lantern in the hush of night,
A golden hush beneath the trembling moon;
A quiet hand that holds you in the light,
A melody that hums a silver tune.

It blooms in coffee steam at morning’s rise,
And trails in breadcrumbs left for birds to find;
It glimmers in the laughter in your eyes,
And lingers in the corners of the mind.

Love is the gentle mending of a seam,
A promise whispered when the world feels rough;
A secret shared, a softly waking dream—
A patchwork quilt, of hopes and edges, slough.

It roots itself in everyday embrace,
In patient words, in time, in open space.
