“Putting on God's armor to fight evil”

In dawn’s first hush, I lace my shoes—
No common leather, but God's good news.
A belt of truth I tightly wind,
It girds my soul and braces mind.

The breastplate next, of righteousness—
It shields my heart from bitterness.
No arrow forged of hate or scorn
Could pierce the peace of spirit worn.

I take up faith, a sturdy shield
Against the darts that darkness yields.
Above, salvation crowns my head—
A helmet where no fear can tread.

My sword, the Spirit’s living word,
Is sharper than the tongue of swords.
It flashes hope and cuts through lies;
It plants the light, not compromise.

Within this holy armor dressed,
I face the day, its trials and tests.
Though shadows creep and evil schemes,
God's armor gleams and so redeems.

With every step, His strength I claim—
Each piece recalls His mighty name.
For in this fight, I’m not alone;
He fights beside and leads me home.
