“Susan and Elam meeting and dating”

Beneath the soft gold café lights,
Where winter’s evening gently bites,
Susan slipped in—her laugh, a bell,
Eyes like stories she’d yet to tell.

Elam turned, a book in hand—
Gentle, thoughtful, earnest, grand.
He’d spent his days in chapters deep
Yet Susan’s glance made old words leap.

A clumsy “hi” and coffee spilled,
Two hearts awkward, instantly thrilled;
New melodies in nervous notes—
She grinned, he blushed, hope softly floats.

They wandered parks where sycamores lean,
Shared secrets over walks lush and green.
Elam told tales of far-off stars;
Susan hummed tunes on battered guitars.

They picnicked lakeside in gold May light,
Tracing constellations late at night.
She found poetry in Elam’s gaze,
He saw adventure ablaze in her ways.

Rainy days at corner booths—
Dreams and laughter, daring truths.
Hands entwined in quiet ease,
Futures painted on the breeze.

Susan and Elam, story begun
From chance and coffee, laugh and sun.
A simple meeting, meant to be—
Their woven hearts, a tapestry.
