“Two souls finding each other.”

Across a crowded, humming world they roam,
Two lantern-lights adrift in search of home;
Each footstep echoes softly, filled with need,
A silent call that distant hearts might heed.

She moves through city lights, a whispered waltz,
He walks the river’s edge, collecting faults;
Both carry wounds that time alone can't heal,
Both doubt the wild, impossible ideal.

But one blue dusk, when spring is soft with gold,
The fateful wind grows sudden, wild, and bold.
It sweeps them, unaware, toward the park,
Where cherry petals shimmer through the dark.

Their eyes, by accident or secret scheme,
Catch, hold—the pause between a wish and dream.
In laughter shy, a note long meant to start,
Two melodies entwine to form one heart.

A hand outstretched, a trembling, hopeful "hi,"
The world contracts: just them, the stars, the sky.
Their scars turn lanterns, stitched with gentle light—
Two souls, once wandering, found whole that night.
